Celebrate the Year of the Dog with this sangria-like cocktail inspired by the one developed by Sophie Szych and Rachel Kling, bartenders at Quill at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington DC. It’ll wet your whistle!
Ingredients
  • 5 blueberries
  • 3 raspberries
  • 2 ozs Meadery of the Rockies Sweet Honey Wine
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 oz bourbon
  • 2 ozs St. Kathryn Cellars Sweet Scarlet
  • ice
Directions

Muddle the berries, honey wine and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add the bourbon and Sweet Scarlet. Fill with ice. Seal and shake vigorously, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish with blueberries, raspberries and a bone-shaped swizzle stick. Woof!
