Hot Chocolate Cherry
This creamy hot chocolate is perfect for cold and cozy nights. A dash of almond extract and some extra cocoa powder take this to the next level alongside our Chocolate Cherry Honey dessert mead. If you weren’t big on hot chocolate before, you will be now.
Ingredients
- 6 oz milk or milk alternative
- 1 oz heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 packet (or 2 tbsp) hot chocolate mix
- 1 tsp cocoa powder (optional, for a richer chocolate flavor)
- 1.5 oz Chocolate Cherry Honey wine
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- Whipped cream or marshmallows (optional)
Directions
In a small saucepan, warm the milk (and cream, if using) over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
Whisk in the hot chocolate mix and cocoa powder (if using) until completely dissolved and smooth.
Remove from heat, then add the Chocolate Cherry Honey wine and almond extract. Stir to combine.
Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream or marshmallows, and garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.
