Governor's Cup Gold, Double Gold and Best in Show Showered on Meadery of the Rockies!
Meadery of the Rockies Wins Gold,
Double Gold and Best in Show at
Governor's Cup Competition!
Meadery of the Rockies was an Olympic-scale performer this month! Results of the Governor's Cup Competition, the state's most prestigious wine event, were announced and two of our honey wines won gold: Strawberry Honey Wine and Chocolate Cherry Honey Wine. Our Strawberry Honey Wine was showered with accolades, winning Double Gold and Best in Show for ciders/meads/fruit wines! It "was the best example of the style that I have ever tasted in my life,” said judge Glenn Exline, judge director of the Mazer Cup International Mead Competition.
The win was carried in many of Colorado's major media, including Westword Magazine, 5280 Magazine and the Denver Business Journal. In addition, the DBJ Book of Lists was published with Talon coming in second in production with more than 19,000 cases in 2015. It's shaping up to be a sweet year for Colorado wines and Talon Wine Brands is at the heart of the hot wine scene.
